German Network Health Service Research (DNVF)
The ZVFK is a member of the German Network for Health Services Research (DNVF) e.V. The DNVF was founded in 2006 and is an interdisciplinary network consisting of professional societies, scientific institutes, organizations of self-governments and scientists* who are concerned with the improvement of health care and patient care from a scientific, practical or health policy point of view. The aim of the DNVF is to network health services research in the health care system, to bring together science and health care practice and to promote health services research as a whole.
Center for Clinical Studies Cologne (ZKS Köln)
The Center for Clinical Studies Cologne (ZKS Köln) is an institution of the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne and has the task to effectively support all processes of clinical studies and to further develop the quality of patient-oriented clinical research in the academic environment. It supports physicians of the University Hospital of Cologne, other hospitals, study groups as well as professional societies in the conception and implementation of clinical studies. For the pharmaceutical industry and contract research organizations, the ZKS Cologne is a clinic-oriented partner for medical research projects.
The services offered by the ZKS Cologne include
- Consultations and services in the preparation and conduct of drug studies, non-drug therapies and medical devices, as well as diagnostic and prognostic studies,
- Education and training of study personnel (courses for investigators, study directors, study assistants),
- a study registry with the possibility to publish and manage studies in a dedicated web portal with freely definable corporate identity,
- pediatric and surgical modules as parts of national networks with mature infrastructure and study-specific expertise in these disciplines.
The ZKS Cologne works according to the guidelines of "Good Clinical Practice" (GCP) as well as the applicable regulatory requirements (e.g. AMG, MPG, GCP-V) and thus guarantees a high quality standard. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne.

Cologne Center for Ethics, Rights, Economics, and Social Sciences of Health (ceres)
ceres, the Cologne Center for Ethics, Rights, Economics, and Social Sciences of Health, is a center for interdisciplinary research, education and training, and consulting on socially relevant issues in the field of health. It is supported by five faculties and the Rectorate of the University of Cologne. The targeted inter- and transdisciplinary orientation of ceres makes it possible to bundle research that has hardly been linked so far and thus to gain knowledge that is both overarching and relevant to practice."

CoRe-Net: Cologne Research and Development Network
Am 1.2.2017 ist das Projekt CoRe-Net zur Entwicklung des Kölner Forschungs- und Entwicklungsnetzwerkes gestartet. Somit gehört Köln zu einem der wenigen Zentren, die durch das BMBF für diese bisher einmalige Strukturförderung ausgewählt wurden. Das auf Dauer angelegte Netzwerk macht Köln zu einer Modellregion für die Verbesserung der medizinischen und sozialen Versorgung in Deutschland. Erfolgreich beantragt wurde das Netzwerk von den ZVFK-Mitgliedseinrichtungen und wird zunächst für 3 Jahre durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).
